Weeks ago, we came up with lots of topics and we managed to narrow it down to 3 topics: Songs that Changed the World, Music Videos and Battle of the Bands. We voted several times for these three topics, Battle of the Bands was eventually eliminated. Then somehow some people had an idea to make the Music Video out of the Songs that Changed the World. So we voted again, until most of us voted for Music Videos. These are the list of video clips most of us voted for:
- Up Town Funk (Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars)
- U Can't Touch (MC Hammer)
- Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)
- Beat It (Michael Jackson)
- Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson)
- Stay High (Tough Love)
- Shower (Becky G)
I think my only concern is the Stay High and Shower because Stay High's lyrics are not appropriate at all, Shower is just another trending pop song for a while and people will forget it overtime. I don't really see the 'contribution' in real music for these songs because it's a little too cliche nowadays. For me it's a normal song from new artists, but I just don't see how appealing it can be if we perform it.
On the other hand, I think the rest are OK because I think we'll put a lot of effort it and there's a theme from the song. I chose Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson because since we're doing a big performance with lots of people on stage, we'll have different roles for certain people to be in groups joining with some others. This video has a theme and a short plot, the dance will probably look better if we can keep up with the tempo of the song, because it's quiet fast, but we can always modify it ourselves.
